Whatever Works!

I've decided that I want to have LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of guests in my house. That way, I can do all of my socializing without leaving my poor husband at home, bored and lonely. He's been enjoying all the company, even though he is the cook in the house. But he REALLY enjoys how I've been beautifying and organizing the house so that it's easier to clean.

Motivating comment in the Messie's Manual: She says that to hang things looks neater and allows for more useable space than to lay things on flat horizontal surfaces.

I decided to use that wonderful "vertical space" to declutter the top of the potty.

I inherited a pretty wooden bathroom shelf with a nice little cupboard and a bar for a decorative towel. Grandma had taste! But I left the poor little shelf in the basement for about 4 years. I went and got it. I could no longer be sure of its color. It was caked with dirt and something had dripped on it.

I soaked it really good with furniture polish. I think I can revive it! THE WOOD IS GLOWING BEAUTIFULLY AGAIN! But why does that furniture polish STINK so bad? Is it the cheap stuff? I looked at the label. It was not polish, it was Raid!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I'll just have to remember not to put certain health items in there for a while....

I switched to Pledge. The shelf looks really nice!
